In 1990, Taiwan’s machinery manufacturing industry was booming, and the demand for various equipment and components was surging. Small AC motors, as a key driving component, showed significant market potential. We saw an opportunity for breakthrough and recognized industry bottlenecks, so we chose a different path — building a professional small AC motor brand in Taiwan with a focus on technological innovation and quality: “Sesame Motor.”
Rather than simply the founding of a new company, the birth of Sesame Motor was a challenge and reform to the existing market. At that time, small AC motors with outputs from 6W to 90W varied greatly in quality and could not meet the increasingly precise industrial demands. From its inception, Sesame Motor emphasized innovation and quality. We successfully developed Taiwan’s first helical gear shaft small AC motor, known for its low noise, high torque, and smooth operation. Within just six years, we became the leading brand in Taiwan's small AC motor market.

This combination not only improved efficiency and reliability but also helped clients simplify design processes, save installation space and cost — making it a crucial drive module in industrial automation systems.

Building on our competitive edge and excellent reputation in the small AC motor field, Sesame Motor actively expanded its product line to develop gear motors with outputs ranging from 100W to 2.2kW (approx. 3HP), meeting diverse power demands of small-to-medium-sized machinery. This phase marked a major upgrade in technology and product depth and symbolized our transformation from a single component supplier to a comprehensive drive solution partner.

Around the year 2000, global manufacturing was rapidly transforming toward automation. Advanced countries like the US, Europe, and Japan had already established complete systems, while emerging markets in Asia were quickly adopting PLC control, servo drives, and high-precision equipment — fueling demand for stable, efficient, and precise drive components. At the time, high-end components were mostly imported from Europe and the US, with long lead times and high costs becoming bottlenecks. Sesame Motor saw this opportunity and, leveraging years of gear and reducer manufacturing experience, began independently developing planetary gearboxes — aiming to deliver performance on par with global brands while offering better delivery and cost advantages from Taiwan.
Starting from our first prototype, Sesame has developed over 40 planetary gearbox product series and obtained numerous international patents. Our products are over 90% compatible with models from world-renowned manufacturers. With a commitment to 100% made in Taiwan, we strike the perfect balance between quality and efficiency. Even amidst the pandemic and supply chain disruptions, we continued to expand steadily across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Today, Sesame’s planetary gearboxes are sold under our own brand in over 50 countries, with distributors in more than 30 nations — proudly standing alongside global industry leaders as a trusted high-end drive brand.
